Sunday 9 am, we walk down the empty streets of Paris direction Marché aux Puces, one of the the biggest antique and flea markets in the world. When we get there we realize we are early, shops are slowly opening their shutters and carrying their merchandise outside, we decide to have a hot chocolate, fresh mint tea and a pain au chocolate first.
We have been coming and buying here for many years but nowadays prices are skyhigh and not that interesting anymore for professionals. Nevertheless it is still so much fun and now and then you get lucky and find a unique piece for a good price. I love the atomsphere in the market, the dealing, the bread and wine at 10 am, cardplaying, smoking merchants and lots of laughs and tall tales.
